Dio (God in Italian) is the balancing force to its stable mate Diavolo. Sharing the same Shiraz from the Piombo vineyard, Dio is anything but a clone of its partner in crime. Predominantly Grenache, Dio gives a mouthful of silky smooth yet spicy fruit up front that drives the wine, filling every millimetre of your mouth. Warm and comforting it is but don’t get too cosy as this wine, given sufficient time to breath, will show you that it is no couch potato. Without being too confronting, there is a lovely underpinning of soft yet direct tannin that props up the fruit and helps carry the wine for a lengthy ride along your tongue.
