Semillon Sauvignon Blanc

Semillon Sauvignon Blanc

Semillon Sauvignon Blancs encompasses two different grapes:

  • Semillon, a yellow-skinned white grape grown to produce white wine in Australia, South Africa, and France, and
  • Sauvignon blanc, a green-skinned white grape variety

Semillon Sauvignon Blanc is also known as ‘Sem Sav’ or simply ‘SSB’.

The white wine is a truly unique beverage that is great for anyone who wants to expand their white wine knowledge and try something new.

The Semillon Sauvignon Blanc is most widely produced in south-west France, most notably Bordeaux’s Graves district, where both Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon are well-established varieties. This classic white wine blend has more recently caught on in Australia, particularly in the Margaret River region, south of Perth.

With both sweet and dry varieties, these wines are collated from tropical fruit flavours, with a splash of lemon, herb, and grassy tones, making this white wine bright, fresh, and easy to drink.

Ideal food pairings for Semillon Sauvignon Blanc wines include:

  • Seafood including salmon, crab, sashimi, and fish
  • Fresh, citrus based meals
  • Spicy food or rich sauces
